About

Mauro Celloti Fine ArtMauro was born in a small village near Venice in Italy, with brothers and cousins as well known Italian artists. As a young scholar Mauro loved his art classes specially when it involved outdoor drawing projects. His family moved to South Africa when he was 15 and lived there for 30 years where he attended The Ruth Prouse College of Art with majors in Photography and Graphic Art. He also studied drawing and history of Art at UNISA. Then at the University of Cape Town he attended courses on Silk Screening. From the age of 18 Mauro expressed his other artistic talents as a musician playing in a band with his brothers for over 10 years.

In 1984 he started his own advertising photo studio which he ran very successfully for 18 years, in the course of which he started a digital printing business and was involved in the design and digital production of art works and large prints up to billboard sizes. During this time he won over 35 awards, including Gold, Silver & Bronze in Advertising and Digital categories.

In 2001, because of the economic climate and the escalating crime rate in South Africa the family decided to make a new start in Vancouver Canada. In September of 2002, he received Gold for Digital Fine Art in the Canadian 2002 Digital Art Awards.

Art has always been his passion and he has worked in many mediums including Pastels, Airbrush, Acrylics, Silk-screening, Metal and Wood sculpture, Digital Art, Mixed Media and Oils. Mauro's joy of art is clearly visible through his work. ”I cannot describe the fantastic feeling of happiness I get when I am in my studio painting and listening to good music.” Now he takes great pleasure working in Oils, Acrylics and Mixed Media.
